What Should I Put in My First Aid Kit?
It is important to keep a well-stocked first aid kit in your home, automobile, workplace, and recreation area. In addition, you should learn and stay practiced in first aid-skills such as CPR. Store each kit in a dry place and replace used contents regularly. A basic first aid kit should contain the following:
- Sterile gauze pads (dressings), 2 and 4 inch squares to place over wounds
- Roller and triangular bandages to hold dressings in place or to make an arm sling
- Adhesive tape & Adhesive bandages in assorted sizes
- Antibacterial Ointment or Spray
- Scissors and tweezers
- Ice bag or chemical ice pack
- Disposable latex gloves
- “Space Blanket”
- Flashlight, with extra batteries in a separate bag
- Antiseptic wipes
- Hand Cleaner
